My name is Jessica; since my diagnosis in 2013, I have learned that hearing those words “you have Multiple Sclerosis” was only the beginning of a journey that would lead me down a path filled with fear of the unknown, anxiety over the things beyond my control and the hope and love offered to me by a community of others that face the same struggles each and every day. Each time a medication dose or drug has changed, I have felt the heaviness of uncertainty, the frustration of instability, and the stress that comes with the financial impact of these medications.
I was there, in that place—when the JB Box was born. I had just received news that I would begin a new medication that would require a 6 to 8-hour infusion. I was overwhelmed, feeling alone and scared as I faced the unknown. I was lucky to have someone to reach out to who had been in my shoes. Brooke offered me a lifeline. Her support meant I was not alone. The suggestions she offered helped me prepare for my long day, easing some of my fear and anxiety. In this revelation, the purpose behind the Just Breath Box found life.
Today, through JB Box, the JB girls are proud to offer help and support to others within the infusion treatment community. We strive to make your infusion day not a day about your disease but a day about you.
If I have learned anything in my journey, everybody has a story—something they struggle with in life. Our mission is to give back the support we have received by helping others in their own battles to offer hope and encouragement when faced with the unknown. And to always remind them to Just Breathe 🎗
